Sustainability Report KEY SUSTAINABILITY HIGHLIGHTS The Skywaters - Development of Sustainable Skyscraper The Skywaters occupies the prime strategic location at 8 Shenton Way, anchored at the intersection of vibrant neighbourhoods, including Singapore’s Central Business District and Marina Bay, the historic Tanjong Pagar district and the emerging Greater Southern Waterfront. This 63-storey landmark mixed-use integrated development with public areas, offices, retail spaces, a hotel and luxury residences, will offer breathtaking panoramic views of the South China Sea. Slated for completion in 2028, The Skywaters will be Singapore’s first supertall building, with a height of 305 metres and one of Asia’s most sustainable skyscrapers. Perennial Holdings is committed to securing Singapore’s BCA Green Mark Platinum certification for The Skywaters, one of the industry’s highest sustainability standards which mandates an energy saving of 55% compared to the benchmark. CHIJMES - Attainment of the EarthCheck Silver Certification CHIJMES, home to two of Singapore’s gazetted national monuments and one of Singapore’s most popular tourist destinations, successfully attained the globally recognised EarthCheck Silver Certification on 7 December 2023. Achieving this certification demonstrates CHIJMES’ commitment to responsible tourism, as the certification process evaluates a wide array of sustainability factors, including energy and water consumption, waste production, community engagement and cultural preservation. Key Sustainable Green Features of The Skywaters 01 Operational carbon during the construction process is reduced by reusing 100% of the existing foundation and part of the existing infrastructure, using sustainable building materials, such as Singapore Green Building Council-certified materials, where available. In addition, waste from the demolition works is sent for smelting and recycling. Sustainable Construction Process 02 The property will be encircled by over 10,000 square metres of greenery. Lush gardens and sky terraces integrated into its buildings will provide an abundance of fresh air and sunlight to building users. Extensive Greenery 03 The Skywaters will be equipped with bicycle and electric vehicle (“EV”) parking facilities, direct underground connectivity to the Tanjong Pagar MRT station and is strategically located within a five-minute walk from three MRT stations (Shenton Way MRT Station, Maxwell MRT Station and Prince Edward Road MRT Station). Easy Access via Sustainable Transportation 04 Perennial Holdings secured a S$3 billion green loan to finance the redevelopment of The Skywaters. Green Loan 05 To minimise water usage, rainwater harvesting system and water-efficient WELS rating will be installed in The Skywaters.
