Within the eldercare homes, overnight patrols and exit protocols are strictly implemented to ensure resident accountability and safety. Each department appoints a Safety Personnel member to conduct daily walkabouts across eldercare homes and medical centres, identifying potential hazards and addressing safety concerns. These observations are reviewed by a Safety Officer each day to ensure comprehensive oversight. The Safety Officer also leads the monthly Safety Review Meeting, which brings together all departmental Safety Personnel to discuss significant health and safety issues and share best practices. In addition to routine inspections, the Company has established guidelines to prioritise resident safety during emergencies such as: • Outbreak of diseases • Injuries such as slip, trips and falls, burns and abrasions • Fire and other related accidents Conducting Regular Safety Drills Regular safety drills form a core component of Perennial Holdings’ approach to emergency preparedness. All medical personnel are trained in emergency procedures, with their readiness assessed through periodic simulation exercises. Eldercare homes also conduct annual fire evacuation drills, provide ongoing fire safety education, and display safety posters and evacuation plans prominently to support swift and informed decision‑making during emergencies. Safety drills are a cornerstone of Perennial Holdings’ commitment to protecting the well-being of both staff and residents across its eldercare homes. By providing hands-on practice, these drills equip employees with the confidence and skills needed to respond swiftly and effectively in potential emergency situations. To ensure preparedness, Perennial Holdings conducts these drills regularly for both staff and residents. Each exercise is designed to reduce the risk of injury during real-life emergencies and to strengthen a culture of vigilance, safety and resilience within the facilities. Through this proactive approach, Perennial Holdings not only enhances operational readiness but also reinforces its dedication to safeguarding the health and security of everyone in its care.
