Annual Report 2015
Empowering through Education, the Arts and Culture
Recognising the real estate industry as one of the key
sectors of Singapore’s vibrant economy, Perennial
is committed to developing a pool of competent
professionals for the industry. In May 2015, Perennial, in
collaboration with the National University of Singapore
(“
NUS
”) Real Estate School, launched the NUS-Perennial
Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to students who
are keen to pursue a career in the real estate industry,
and are selected based on their academic performance,
exceptional personal attributes and track record in extra-
curricular activities
In addition to empowering the community through
education, we are dedicated to promoting the arts and
culture to the community. The opportunity to appreciate
and enjoy the arts and culture should be made available
to all segments of the community. In line with our
efforts towards conservation of heritage developments,
we also support activities that enhance the community’s
understanding of culture and cultural heritage as they
give us a sense of belonging and provide us with insights
on the past.
In June 2015, Perennial organised and hosted the
‘Charity Night of Singapura: The Musical’ at the newly
restored Capitol Theatre as part of the company’s
initiatives to mark Singapore’s 50th birthday (“
SG50
”).
Perennial donated over S$107,000 in cash and in-kind
contributions and helped to raise close to S$103,000
from its corporate partners for the more than 80 charities
under the Community Chest. More importantly, the
musical charity night provided over 400 Community
Chest’s youth beneficiaries and volunteers with an
opportunity to watch a musical, many of whom never had
a chance prior to this event.
